Helping individuals and families with anxiety, communication challenges and struggles with the use of personal tech
Jake Townsend, MFT, is a Marriage and Family Therapist who works with individuals, couples, and families to reduce anxiety, strengthen relationships, support parenting challenges, and create healthier ways of living in a technology-driven world. He earned his Master’s degree in Couple and Family Therapy from UNLV and his Bachelor’s degree in Family Life from BYU. Jake specializes in anxiety, relationship and communication challenges, parenting stress, and the growing impact of technology—including screen overuse, digital distraction, and disconnection at home. He helps clients who feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, emotional distance, relational tension, family stress, or unhealthy tech habits. His approach integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), communication skills training, and client-centered principles to create practical, compassionate pathways forward. Jake is passionate about helping people build healthier, more connected lives—whether through managing internal stress, improving relationship dynamics, navigating parenting demands, or finding balance with technology. Clients appreciate his thoughtful, down-to-earth style and his ability to make difficult topics feel approachable. Outside of therapy, he’s a husband, proud father to a young daughter, and lifelong learner who loves sports, history, and reading about psychology and human behavior.
