Terms of Service
Effective July 5, 2026
1. Who we are and what you're agreeing to
Therafind ("Therafind," "we," "us") operates therafindutah.com, a directory that helps people in Utah find licensed therapists and helps therapists list their practices. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Therafind covering your use of the site, including the therapist directory, therapist accounts and listings, the community forum, and any related features.
By using the site — or by creating an account and clicking to accept — you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
2. Therafind is a directory, not a healthcare provider
Therafind is an information service. We list therapists and let you search, browse, and contact them directly. We do not provide therapy, counseling, medicine, or any other healthcare service, and we are not a party to any relationship you form with a therapist you find here.
Nothing on the site is medical, psychological, or legal advice. A listing on Therafind is not a recommendation or endorsement of any therapist, and a "verified" badge means only that we checked the therapist's license against public licensing records at a point in time — it is not a guarantee of quality, availability, or fit. You are responsible for evaluating any therapist you choose to work with, including confirming their current licensure, qualifications, and fees.
3. Not for emergencies
Therafind is not a crisis service and is not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911. For mental health crisis support in the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
4. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the site. Browsing the directory does not require an account; therapist accounts are for licensed (or license-pending, where clearly disclosed) mental health professionals only.
When you create an account you agree to give us accurate information, keep it up to date, and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. Therapist listings and verification
If you create a therapist listing, you represent that everything in it — your name, credentials, license status, specialties, fees, contact details, and location — is accurate and that you are authorized to practice as described. You must keep your listing current, including promptly updating it if your license is suspended, revoked, surrendered, or lapses.
We may verify listings against public licensing records, ask for supporting documentation, and show a verification status on your profile. We may decline, unpublish, suspend, or remove any listing at any time, including for inaccurate information, licensing problems, complaints, or violations of these Terms.
Publishing a listing makes the information in it — including your general practice location shown on a map — publicly visible on the internet. Don't put anything in a listing you don't want public.
6. Subscriptions and billing
Therapist listings may require a paid subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges at the plan and price shown at checkout until you cancel.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard's billing portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and we don't prorate or refund partial periods except where the law requires. If a renewal payment fails, we may unpublish your listing until payment is brought current.
If we change subscription pricing, we'll give existing subscribers reasonable advance notice, and the new price will apply from your next renewal.
7. The community forum
The community area (boards, posts, comments, events, and continuing-education listings) is available to verified therapists. It exists for professional peer discussion. When you participate, you agree to the following:
- Never post information that could identify a client or patient, even indirectly. No case details, no session content, no client communications — anonymized or otherwise. You are solely responsible for your own confidentiality and ethical obligations.
- Nothing you post is professional advice to anyone, and you won't treat other members' posts as a substitute for your own professional judgment.
- No harassment, hate speech, spam, or solicitation unrelated to professional practice.
- Use the report feature for content that breaks these rules. We may remove content, lock threads, or suspend forum access at our discretion, but we don't pre-screen posts and aren't responsible for what members post.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of the content you submit — listing text, photos, forum posts, comments, and anything else. By submitting it, you grant Therafind a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the site (for example, showing your listing in search results or a post on a board).
You are responsible for your content. Don't submit anything you don't have the right to share, including photos you don't own the rights to. If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, email us at support@therafindutah.com with enough detail for us to find and evaluate it.
9. Acceptable use
When using the site, you agree not to:
- Impersonate anyone, misrepresent credentials, or create a listing for someone without their authorization.
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download directory data, or use the site to build a competing dataset or service.
- Contact therapists listed on the site for marketing, recruiting, or any purpose other than genuinely seeking or coordinating care.
- Probe, disable, or interfere with the site's security or operation, or access accounts or data that aren't yours.
- Use the site for anything unlawful, or in violation of professional licensing rules that apply to you.
10. Therafind's content
The site itself — its design, code, text we've written, logos, and branding — belongs to Therafind or its licensors. We give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the site as intended. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute it except as these Terms allow.
11. Third-party services and links
The site relies on third-party services (for example, Stripe for payments) and links out to therapist websites, email addresses, and phone numbers. Those services and sites have their own terms and privacy practices, and we aren't responsible for them. Your interactions with a therapist — scheduling, treatment, payment for services — are entirely between you and the therapist.
12. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the site or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts, listings, or forum access at any time for violations of these Terms, licensing problems, risk to other users, or legal reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including content licenses, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute terms — survive.
13. Disclaimers
The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that listings are accurate or current, that any therapist is licensed or competent, that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content in the forum is reliable.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Therafind will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the site — including anything arising from your relationship with a therapist found through the site. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15. Indemnification
If you are a therapist using the site for your practice, you agree to indemnify and hold Therafind harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your listing content, your professional services, or your violation of these Terms or of applicable law and licensing rules.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing anything, please email us — most issues can be sorted out directly.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we'll take reasonable steps to notify you — such as email to account holders or a notice on the site — before it takes effect. Continuing to use the site after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms. The "effective" date above always reflects the current version.
